Master Key Found Which Could Lead To Treatment For All Autoimmune Disorders

From NextBigFuture.com

Imagine a single drug that would treat most, if not all, autoimmune disorders, such as asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, and Lupus. That might not be so hard to do thanks to a team of researchers who have discovered a molecule normally used by the body to prevent unnecessary immune reactions. This molecule, pronounced "alpha v beta 6," normally keeps our immune systems from overreacting when food passes through our bodies, and it may be the key that unlocks entirely new set of treatments for autoimmune disorders.

Journal of Leukocyte Biology - Intestinal epithelial cell-derived integrin αβ6 plays an important role in the induction of regulatory T cells and inhibits an antigen-specific Th2 response

"Currently we do not have special methods to radically treat most immune diseases; all we can do is to temporarily inhibit the clinical symptoms for those diseases," said Ping-Chang Yang, a researcher involved in the work from the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. "Our findings have the potential to repair the compromised immune tolerant system so as to lead the body immune system to 'correct' the ongoing pathological conditions by itself."

Scientists made this discovery in mice when they noticed that their intestines secreted alphavbeta6, when absorbing food. Alphavbeta6, together with the absorbed food, induced the body to produce immune tolerant cells, which ensured that the food did not cause an excessive immune reaction. Researchers then generated alphavbeta6 using cultured intestinal cells and found that both could be used to generate the immune tolerant cells needed to reduce or eliminate out-of-control immune reactions.

"Development of new treatments and cures for diseases is usually a long process involving a series of incremental steps taken from the laboratory all the way through to the patient's bedside," said John Wherry, Ph.D., Deputy Editor of the Journal of Leukocyte Biology. "Occasionally, however, scientists make large leaps forward instead. While considerable work remains to determine whether or not this discovery will directly translate into new therapies, the alphavbeta6 discovery reported by these scientists is exciting, if not stunning."

Toleroge nic DCs and Tregs are believed to play a critical role in oral tolerance. However, the mechanisms of the generation of tolerogenic DCs and activation of Tregs in the gut remain poorly understood. This study aims to dissect the molecular mechanisms by which IECs and protein antigen induce functional tolerogenic DCs and Tregs. Expression of αvβ6 by gut epithelial cell-derived exosomes, its coupling with food antigen, and their relationship with the development of functional tolerogenic DCs and Tregs were examined by using in vitro and in vivo approaches. The results show that IECs up-regulated the integrin αvβ6 upon uptake of antigens. The epithelial cell-derived exosomes entrapped and transported αvβ6 and antigens to the extracellular environment. The uptake of antigens alone induced DCs to produce LTGFβ, whereas exosomes carrying αvβ6/antigen resulted in the production of abundant, active TGF-β in DCs that conferred to DCs the tolerogenic properties. Furthermore, αvβ6/OVA-carrying, exosome-primed DCs were found to promote the production of active TGF-β in Tregs. Thus, in vivo administration of αvβ6/OVA-laden exosomes induced the generation of Tregs and suppressed skewed Th2 responses toward food antigen in the intestine. Our study provides important molecular insights into the molecular mechanisms of Treg development by demonstrating an important role of IEC-derived exosomes carrying αvβ6 and food antigen in the induction of tolerogenic DCs and antigen-specific Tregs.

Polls: Americans Want Our Liberties Restored, Our Troops Brought Home and the Federal Reserve Reined In

Preface: This essay is not intended as an endorsement (or non-endorsement) of Ron Paul. Rather, it is intended to demonstrate why Ron Paul is becoming so popular, despite being virtually ignored by the mainstream media. Had Obama followed the American people’s wishes – as revealed by the poll numbers cited below – he would easily win re-election.

Americans: Rein In the Federal Reserve

CNN notes:

“We are seeing a level of enthusiasm for Ron Paul that can be compared with President Obama in 2008″, said Eric Brakey, Media Coordinator for NYC Liberty HQ, the grassroots organization hosting the rally for the candidate. “Congressman Paul’s youth support is different now than it was during his last presidential campaign. It’s more organized and it’s picking up steam and continues to grow”.

As the longtime congressman from Texas stepped onto the stage, the crowd screamed with enthusiasm. The audience’s biggest reaction came when he spoke about ending the Federal Reserve. “The country has changed in the last four years, but my message hasn’t changed” Paul said. “The country is ripe for a true revolution”.

At least 75% of the American people want a full audit of the Fed, and most were against reconfirming Bernanke.

Indeed, as Bloomberg noted last December:

A majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the nation’s independent central bank, saying the U.S. Federal Reserve should either be brought under tighter political control or abolished outright, a poll shows.

***

Americans across the political spectrum say the Fed shouldn’t retain its current structure of independence. Asked if the central bank should be more accountable to Congress, left independent or abolished entirely, 39 percent said it should be held more accountable and 16 percent that it should be abolished. Only 37 percent favor the status quo.

As I have extensively documented, the Fed is largely responsible for the economic crisis, and has failed to meet a single one of its stated mandates (let alone its implied ones).

Americans Are Sick and Tired of Never-Ending War

Ron Paul is also gaining popularity because he is against the never-ending War On Terror, and wants to bring the troops home. Americans are sick of the never-ending, ever-creeping war. See this, this and this.

As Talking Points Memo reported earlier this month:

“…Only about a quarter say the wars in Iraq (26%) and Afghanistan (25%) have lessened the chances of terrorist attacks in the United States,” the Pew report reads. “In both cases majorities say the wars either have increased the risk of terrorism in this country or made no difference.”

Top American military leaders agree, saying that the war on terror has weakened our national security.

Americans Want Our Liberties Back

Mr. Paul also speaks alot about the importance of liberty.

And Americans have become much less tolerant of the wholesale destruction of our constitutional freedoms in the name of fighting terrorism.

As Talking Points Memo notes:

On the eve of the ten year anniversary of 9/11, the Pew Research Center has released new data on Americans’ reaction to the attacks, and the foreign and national security policies pursued in the post 9/11 era. They show a country with views that have evolved on the relationship between civil liberties and the tools given to government to fight terrorism, and a disbelief that the continuing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan helped to lessen the chance there will be another terrorist attack on the United States.

The Pew survey showed a large shift in the number of Americans who are willing to see some of their civil liberties go out the window in the name of fighting terrorism. Directly after 9/11, Americans were willing to make the deal, as 55 percent thought it was necessary, against 35 percent who felt the opposite. Now, only 40 percent felt that giving up some civil liberties is necessary to curb terrorism, with 54 percent against.

Hundreds of Millions of Americans Can’t Be Stopped

Of course, criticizing the Fed, wanting to end the wars, liking Ron Paul, or “taking a cynical stance toward politics, mistrusting authority, endorsing democratic practices, … and displaying an inquisitive, imaginative outlook” can bring on heightened scrutiny or displeasure from the powers-that-be.

But given that the overwhelming majority of Americans fall in one or more of these categories, they can’t harass hundreds of million of us.

Note: Instead of labeling the opinions described above as “conservative” or “liberal, please read this.

Webbot Clif High : Market crash on 11/11/11 & The US Dollar will Die

Webbot Clif High with Marshall Masters 9/27/2011 : Clif High of the Webbot project is back to discuss his latest report , he mentions amongst other things that The US Dollar will die , countries will be driven back to a previous age , watch out for a market crash on 11/11/11

from Wikipedia : Web Bot, or the Web Bot Project, refers to an Internet bot software program that is claimed to be able to predict future events by tracking keywords entered on the Internet. It was created in 1997, originally to predict stock market trends.[1] The creator of the Web Bot Project, Clif High, along with his associate George Ure, who call themselves "The Time Monks"[2], keep the technology and algorithms largely secret and sell the predictions via the website halfpasthuman.com. Clif High has a patent on computer-assisted reading technology which allows reading from computer screens at up to 2000 words per minute. Reaching into other areas of hidden potential within language use by humans, he has been developing a system of software internet agents (like search engines use) and other proprietary processing methods to predict future events. The software project, begun in 1997, captures near-real-time changes in language patterns within internet discussions. Then, employing radical linguistic techniques of his own devising, he develops a model which anticipates future events with some seeming accuracy. The processing has, at its core, a method of assigning emotional values to complex content and time carry-values to predict changes in future behavior based on how people are using language now. Since June 2001 when the work projected a major 'tipping point', that is a 'life-changing event' with aspects of 'military and accident' that would forever change the way we live to occur inside 90 days, the web bot project has continued to give archetype descriptors of future events such as the anthrax attack in Washington, the crash of American 587, the Columbia disaster, the Northeast Power outage, the Banda Aceh earthquake and most recently the flooding of the Red River. As a continuing project, reports are offered from the extracted archetype information at his web site, www.halfpasthuman.com. Webbot predictions predictions about the economy, and U.S. and world events for the summer of 2010 and beyond . Here are some of the highlights of what they see coming: * No warfare between Israel and Iran, at least not until November. * Six very large earthquakes are yet to come during the rest of 2010. * A major tipping point will occur between November 8th – 11th, 2010, followed by a 2-3 month release period. This tipping point appears to be US-centric, and could be a dramatic world-changing event like 9-11 that will have rippling after-effects. The collapse of the dollar might occur in November. * From July 8th, 2010 onward, civil unrest will take place, possibly driven by food prices skyrocketing, and the devaluation of the dollar. * A second depression, triggered by mass layoffs, bankruptcies, and the popping of the "derivatives bubble," will see people moving out of cities. * After March 2011, the revolution wave will settle down into a period of reformation. * A "data gap" has been found between early 2012 running through May 2013. One explanation is that "our civilization gets knocked back to a pre-electronic state," such as brought about by devastating solar activity. * A new benign form of capitalism will emerge during 2017-2020.

This popular American city is becoming a police state

I watched this segment last night on 60 Minutes. The NYC police department has 50,000 people working for it. They can shoot down a plane. They purposely intimidate the population through displays of force that have nothing to do with any threat. The entire city is under camera surveillance. Where did they get the money to implement this kind of Big Brother city?

I believe that 60 Minutes meant this to be a positive story about the NYC police department. I had a very uneasy feeling after watching this story. The technology implemented reminds me of Orwell’s 1984. Will it be used to foil terrorists or will it be used against the citizens who disagree with the authorities?

What do you think?

Understanding Disinformation Verses Propaganda

Around the world Television dominates the eyes and minds of society that induces deception. The Illuminati Occult perfected Propaganda and now Disinformation through the News Media, Music Industry, and many other media outlets. In America, high definition television are placed in restaurants, shops, and corporations buildings, considering the hypnotic effect of HD TV– society is deceived into believing they need the interaction of a TV. The majorities watch the mainstream news every night that causes their deluded minds to go deeper into the matrix. Today is the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and the media is deceptively manipulating human emotion through disinformation and twisted propaganda.

Disinformation is continually using today through the news media that covertly deceives the mind from the deeper context of the truth.

Propaganda is generally an appeal to emotion, not intellect. It shares techniques with advertising and public relations.

Disinformation and Propaganda work together within the mainstream media. Watching any local or world news channel will make the awakened individual sick to their stomach. Over the years the Zionist branch of the Illuminati perfected this combination, and completely comprehends that most of the world “listens” to their twisted deception.j

It’s time to wake up: 9/11 was a Zionist/American inside job.

The Definitions:

Disinformation

1: false information deliberately and often covertly spread (as by the planting of rumors) in order to influence public opinion or obscure the truth

2: false information that is intended to mislead, esp. propaganda issued by a government organization to a rival power or the media.

Origin: 1950′s formed on the pattern of Russian dezinformatsiya

Propaganda

1 [ mass noun ] information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view: he was charged with distributing enemy propaganda.

the dissemination of propaganda as a political strategy: the party’s leaders believed that a long period of education and propaganda would be necessary.

2 (Propaganda) a committee of cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church responsible for foreign missions, founded in 1622 by Pope Gregory XV.

ORIGIN Italian, from modern Latin congregatio de propaganda fide ‘congregation for propagation of the faith’ (see sense 2). Sense 1 dates from the early 20th cent.

Disinformation Verses Traditional Propaganda:

Disinformation is a highly-specialized form of propaganda. While some types of disinformation are even cruder and more mindless than the propaganda with which we are already familiar, some pieces of disinformation are very cleverly constructed and distributed – for the “consumption” of a totally unsuspecting public. Herein lies the key to disinformation: it is an indirect attempt to control our thoughts.

Propaganda is a very “blunt” instrument for attempting to influence our minds. The “message” is delivered directly to the “target”. The success of propaganda depends primarily on the persuasiveness of the message, and secondarily on the credibility of the source of the message.

Unlike traditional propaganda techniques designed to engage emotional support, disinformation is designed to manipulate the audience at the rational level by either discrediting conflicting information or supporting false conclusions. A common disinformation tactic is to mix some truth and observation with false conclusions and lies, or to reveal part of the truth while presenting it as the whole (a limited hangout). Disinformation is a form of propaganda that is invariably sinister and dangerous. Propaganda, by design, evokes an emotional reaction. The point of propaganda is to motivate people to act upon the message being relayed. But when that message is a complete distortion of reality we end up the 9/11 deception.

Disinformation is a highly-specialized form of propaganda

A limited hangout, or partial hangout, is a public relations or propaganda technique that involves the release of previously hidden information in order to prevent a greater exposure of more important details. It takes the form of deception, misdirection, or coverup often associated with intelligence agencies involving a release or “mea culpa” type of confession of only part of a set of previously hidden sensitive information, that establishes credibility for the one releasing the information who by the very act of confession appears to be “coming clean” and acting with integrity; but in actuality, by withholding key facts, is protecting a deeper operation and those who could be exposed if the whole truth came out. In effect, if an array of offenses or misdeeds is suspected, this confession admits to a lesser offense while covering up the greater ones.

The American media deploys a deep and varied arsenal of rhetorical devices in order to marginalise opinions, people and organisations as “outside the mainstream” and therefore not worth listening to

Another technique of concealing facts, or censorship, is also used if the group can affect such control. When channels of information cannot be completely closed, they can be rendered useless by filling them with disinformation, effectively lowering their signal-to-noise ratio and discrediting the opposition by association with many easily disproved false claims.

Propaganda is the more or less systematic effort to manipulate other people’s beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols (words, gestures, banners, monuments, music, clothing, insignia, hairstyles, designs on coins and postage stamps, and so forth). Deliberateness and a relatively heavy emphasis on manipulation distinguish propaganda from casual conversation or the free and easy exchange of ideas. The propagandist has a specified goal or set of goals. Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community, culture, or entire country toward some cause or position so as to benefit oneself.

Propaganda is often biased, with facts selectively presented (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political, or other type of agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare.

The brain is a belief engine, predisposed to see ‘patterns’ where none exist and to attribute them to knowing agents rather than to chance. Better to make sense of the truth, then having formed a belief of deception, each of us tends to seek out evidence that confirms the deceptive propaganda, thus reinforcing the belief

The Cold War is the finest example of the usage of disinformation, propaganda, and limited hangout. Both sides painted a picture toward the other through propaganda by using covert disinformation. During the 1950s, the West boosted about the deceiving benefits of Capitalism and preached the evils of communism and socialism. In turn the Soviet Union used the propaganda machine to control the people into verbal acceptance. The United States Information Agency operated the Voice of America as an official government station. Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty, which were, in part, supported by the Central Intelligence Agency, provided grey propaganda in news and entertainment programs to Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union respectively. The Soviet Union’s official government station, Radio Moscow, broadcast white propaganda, while Radio Peace and Freedom broadcast grey propaganda. Both sides also broadcast black propaganda programs in periods of special crises.

Who Controls the Media?

The Zionists! A major branch in the Illuminati.

Today, seven Zionist Americans run the vast majority of US television networks, the printed press, the Hollywood movie industry, the book publishing industry, and the recording industry. Most of these industries are bundled into huge media conglomerates run by the following seven individuals:
glass Understanding Disinformation Verses Propaganda

  • Gerald Levin, CEO and Director of AOL Time Warner
  • Michael Eisner, Chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company
  • Edgar Bronfman, Sr., Chairman of Seagram Company Ltd
  • Edgar Bronfman, Jr, President and CEO of Seagram Company Ltd and head of Universal Studios
  • Sumner Redstone, Chairman and CEO of Viacom, Inc
  • Dennis Dammerman, Vice Chairman of General Electric
  • Peter Chernin, President and Co-COO of News Corporation Limited

Seven Zionists collectively control ABC, NBC, CBS, the Turner Broadcasting System, CNN, MTV, Universal Studios, MCA Records, Geffen Records, DGC Records, GRP Records, Rising Tide Records, Curb/Universal Records, and Interscope Records.

Most of the larger independent newspapers are owned by Zion interests as well. An example is media mogul is Samuel I. “Si” Newhouse, who owns two dozen daily newspapers from Staten Island to Oregon, plus the Sunday supplement Parade; the Conde Nast collection of magazines, including Vogue, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Allure, GQ, and Self; the publishing firms of Random House, Knopf, Crown, and Ballantine, among other imprints; and cable franchises with over one million subscribers.

The Zionist branch of the Illuminati also control the Internet.

If counterfeiters put pictures of their family members on their handiwork, nobody would be fooled. What constitutes a good fake is how well it resembles the real thing.

The truth is precious. The Majorities in our society have lost respect for the truth because of the matrix delusion; people who have traded in their conscience and their soul for temporary financial comfort while sacrificing the stability and balance.

Our Inner Spirit comprehends truth. The only way to identify the truth is to listen within and the reaction of your body. Any context of information, music, tv shows, movies — our meridian daily clock and inner system will weaken and collapse. Inner fear must be faced and surrendered which will increase intuition to identify the deeper context of a subject and what is truth verses disinformation.

Which Nutrition Chart Should You Rely Upon: The RDA, RDI, AI, EAR or DV? Or, How Much Nutrition Do You Really Need?

It is so strange, in an era of overly processed foods and refined sugars, nutritionists continue to maintain the American diet is sufficient to meet the nutrient needs of Americans. This drivel continues despite the fact recent studies do not confirm the consumption of fruits and vegetables significantly reduces mortality rates for heart disease and cancer, the number one and two chronic diseases that drive mortality rates. Even the 9-13 servings of plant foods-regimen now recommended by health authorities still is an unproven measure.

If you are totally confused by the array of acronyms RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance), RDI (Reference Dietary Intake), AI (Adequate Intake), EAR (Estimated Average Requirement) and DV (Daily Value) used to inform Americans how much nutrition they need, join the crowd. For various reasons, all of these should be disregarded, as explained below.

Diet + Supplements

One of the problems in reading charts which describe how much of each essential vitamin and mineral is needed in the diet is that consumers don’t recognize that these numbers represent diet plus supplements. So, for example, the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for calcium is 1000 milligrams (mg) and the typical American diet provides ~946 mg, so calcium supplements are not needed.

But menopausal women hear that they need 1200 mg or 1500 mg of calcium to maintain bone and opt to purchase bone mineral supplements which provide the entire 1200 mg daily requirement on top of what the diet already provides. If calcium is being lost from bone due to the loss of estrogen production in the ovaries, then correction of this problem lies in replacement of the estrogen, not more calcium. Otherwise, the more calcium that is consumed in post-menopause the more calcium that is deposited from bones to arteries. This is why calcium supplementation has recently been linked with stiffening of arteries and mortality from coronary heart disease. Frankly, while calcium is one of the top food supplements sold today next to multivitamins, fish oil and vitamin C, it may be a nutrient that needs to be axed from the daily supplement regimen of many Americans. Americans live in a dairy country and obtain sufficient calcium from the diet. 20512078

Bottom line, read the RDA, RDI, etc, charts with knowledge that they represent what you need from diet plus food supplements. The chart provided in this article more accurately helps to distinguish the contribution diet and supplements make towards meeting nutrient needs.

Nutrition Requirement Charts May Not Apply To You

Another factor the nutrition charts don’t address is who you are. Let’s take a look at iron in the chart below. The diet provides around 14.7 mg per day of iron and supplements add, on average, another 3.0 milligrams, for a total of 17.7 mg of iron from diet plus supplements for the average American who take supplements. But when data on intake levels for supplement users alone is singled out, supplement users may be getting over 36 milligrams of iron per day! That much iron could be tolerated by a growing child who needs to make millions of new red blood cells per second, but maybe not for full-grown males who have no outlet for excess iron and accumulate it in their organs and tissues. Supplemental iron may be beneficial for menstruating females who control their iron via their monthly blood flow, but maybe not post-menopausal females who are in the same situation as full-grown males. This iron gets stored in compartments in the body, particularly in the liver where it can cause a fatty liver condition that affects around 35% of American adults. Sweden abandoned iron fortification in foods when it realized fatty liver was an unwanted consequence. Supplement users could be getting a figurative truck-load of rusty iron and copper and artery-stiffening, kidney-accumulating calcium. Eugene Weinberg, researcher at University of Indiana, even goes so far as to suggest iron fortification in foods should be abandoned.

Do supplement users commonly overdose?

While the following chart may make it appear supplement users overload on certain nutrients – that is far from the truth. A primary reason is that the RDA is only designed to meet the nutrient needs of healthy individuals. The RDA is supposed to meet the nutrient needs of 98% of the population, but does it really do that? There are so many millions of Americans who take nutrient-depleting drugs, who are under physical or emotional stress that depletes B vitamins, who smoke tobacco that depletes vitamin C, who have chronic illness (like diabetes) that increases nutrient demand, who don’t go outdoors during midday and receive sufficient amounts of sunlight to produce vitamin D, who are of advanced age and don’t produce sufficient levels of stomach acid to properly absorb nutrients, that one wonders if the RDA is even relevant in today’s society. It’s as if nutrient deficiencies are being programmed in by intentionally limiting specific nutrients from the diet.

RDA level is not optimal health level

Another problem with the RDA is that it is designed to provide the minimum amount of nutrients needed to avert a deficiency disease, not the optimal amount for health. And the RDA certainly doesn’t apply to growing children for females during pregnancy who have acute nutrient demands.

RDA is outdated

Also, the RDA has not kept up with changing dietary practices. Refined sugar consumption has risen since the 1970s from around 60 pounds per year to over 100 pounds today, with high-fructose corn syrup comprising most of that rise. Refined sugars inhibit absorption of vitamin B1 (thiamin), paralyze white blood cells and feed yeast (Candida albicans) which overgrows in the digestive tract which may deplete vitamin C and zinc.

Nutrients and blood tests are confusing

More confusion reigns when a person visits their doctor who may perform blood tests to determine if nutrient levels are sufficient. But these tests are often misinterpreted. First, a person’s vitamin blood concentrations may fall within the reference range (the commonly-occurring range), but that is not necessarily the healthy range. Second, blood levels may only reflect what a person has recently consumed. Third, does a high blood level indicate sufficiency or what is being excreted? A high blood-calcium level in a post-menopausal female does not indicate calcium adequacy, it indicates calcium is being lost from bone and excreted. Another example is vitamin B12 where blood levels may fall within the normal range but provision of supplemental B12 will often resolve symptoms caused by deficiency.

So why water-down multivitamins?

With all of this being said, inexplicably the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) may soon be watered down to the Estimated Average Requirement (EAR) by those nutritionists who feel many Americans are overdosing on essential nutrients. The EAR is intended to meet the nutritional needs of 50% of the population. This movement to reduce nutrients in fortified foods and multivitamin is underway despite the fact the RDA for vitamin C and vitamin D (signified by the ▲symbol in the chart below) won’t even significantly raise blood levels. This is particularly troublesome since vitamin C is water soluble and washes out rapidly in the urinary flow.

Furthermore, nutritionists have been remiss in factoring for a gene mutation that occurred many generations ago that halted the natural enzymatic conversion of blood sugar into vitamin C which occurs in most animals but not humans. While animals make vitamin C throughout the day humans must rely upon foods and supplements for this essential nutrient that builds connective tissue and piques the immune system. So much for reliance upon charts to determine nutrient needs.

The Entirely Safe Upper Limit

Then there are those nutrition advisers who mistakenly warn the public away from the upper limit (see chart below). But they forget to add that this is the entirely-safe upper limit. For example, this high-ranking web page on Google written by a "medical consultant" misguidedly warns people away from perfectly safe doses of nutrients. Actually, the Safe Upper Limit category is so misunderstood by the public it should be abandoned.

There are no observable side effects at the Safe Upper Limit dose, which is generally many times lower than the lowest-observed effects level (LOEL). And again, this requires interpretation because vitamins and minerals can be consumed in mega-doses to produce a therapeutic effect. For example, very high-dose vitamin D (50,000 IU) can be taken safely over a short-course to produce antibiotic peptides that kill off invading bacteria, viruses or even cancer cells. The same is true for mega-dose vitamin C which can be consumed in high doses to transiently produce hydrogen peroxide to kill off pathogenic germs or tumor cells.

How much nutrition to protect DNA?

Now let’s add a zinger to the debate on how much nutrition the human body really needs. Michael F Fenech, a prolific investigator at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization Food and Nutritional Sciences in Australia, knowing we now live in an era of genomics (that branch of molecular biology concerned with the structure, function, evolution, and mapping of human genes), has begun to determine nutrient intake levels that protect the human library of about 25,000 genes that are packaged inside the nucleus of each living cell in the human body. Mutations in the DNA ladder that comprise the human library of genes can lead to disease.

Dr. Fenech proposes an RDA for genomic stability. For example, folic acid (vitamin B9) is required for DNA repair. How much folate from food or folic acid from supplements is needed to adequately repair DNA? Research by Dr. Fenech says about 700 micrograms per day, far beyond what the best diet could possibly provide. According to Dr. Fenech’s genomic RDA, humans need a lot more vitamin E and vitamin B12 to protect their genome than the RDA.

To corroborate what Dr. Fenech proposes, Dr. Bruce Ames, a prolific researcher at the University of California at Berkeley who has studies nutrients and DNA repair for decades now, says even marginal deficiencies of nutrients like folic acid or the trace mineral selenium can result in gene mutations and pre-disease states.

A disconcerting finding by Dr. Fenech is that mega-doses of three B vitamins, riboflavin (vitamin B2), pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) and biotin may be destructive to DNA. Accompanying antioxidant vitamins such as vitamin C, E and selenium may blunt some of the potential problems posed by overdose of these vitamins, but it is still a cause for concern given the paltry amount of these antioxidants in many multivitamins.

Summary: The RDA, EAR, AI, and DV are confusing, outdated and only mislead. They should be ignored. They serve to perpetuate nutrient deficiencies and even nutrient overload in the population at large. These flawed nutrient reference standards ensure a certain level of nutrient-related disease in the population at large because food fortification and dietary supplement regimens are designed around them. Greater attention should be given to research that addresses the amount of nutrients required to maintain DNA stability in aging populations.

LEGEND

NE = not established. No intake level has been established even though these nutrients are essential for human health.

H – Recommended intake levels for nutrients are established for healthy individuals only and are not applicable to growing children, females in pregnancy, diabetics, smokers, the hospitalized, the medicated, individuals with chronic disease or infection or people living under chronic stress. Recommended intake levels address the minimum amount necessary to avoid frank deficiency, not intake level for optimal health.

The U.S. government has found another way to invade privacy in the name of fighting terrorism by proposing legislation that would track prepaid debit cards. As usual, the real losers would be, not terrorists who won’t comply anyway, but innocent Americans, or travelers, and card issuers burdened with yet another layer of record keeping and compliance procedures. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a branch of the Treasury Department, has drafted rules, taking effect Sep. 27, to establish a “more comprehensive regulatory approach for prepaid access.”

It’s important to distinguish between these prepaid debit cards and the debit cards attached to your bank account. Once known as “stored-value cards” the cards will be renamed “prepaid access cards” — because they aren’t tied to a bank account, the money paid for them in advance could be anywhere, currently outside the reach of monitoring by the government. Which is precisely the point. An assessment of financial security threats in 2005 by the Treasury Department noted that the 9/11 hijackers opened bank accounts, signed signature cards and received wire transfers, which left a financial trail. The assessment noted: “… had the 9/11 terrorists used prepaid … cards to cover their expenses, none of these financial footprints would have been available,” according to MSNBC.com last week.

FBI Director Robert Mueller even called the use of prepaid cards a shadow banking system. The Treasury Department's assessment urged action to crack down on misuse of prepaid access cards, saying it was convinced that the shuttling of criminal proceeds across the border, "whether in the form of bulk cash or stored value" (on prepaid cards), poses "a significant threat to national security."

ACI Worldwide of New York creates and manages electronic payment systems for banks and major retailers. Senior product manager Jim Schlegel said the new rules are well-intentioned, but he questioned just how big a problem money laundering through prepaid cards really is. In an interview he said:

It's "such a small percentage of the overall problem, and attempts to propose very heavy legislation and requirements around it put a drag on an otherwise growing and profitable sector."

Agencies and bank regulators claimed that there’s no way to know how much money moves undetected across U.S. borders via the use of these cards, but according to a Government Accountability Office report from October 2010, it’s estimated that criminals smuggle $18 billion to $39 billion a year in bulk cash across the southwest border.

But, according to MSNBC, criminal organizations load prepaid cards with amounts just under the $10,000 minimum that must be reported, then cards are sent across borders and/or to associates who can convert the amounts to cash — effectively a form of money laundering. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) reported last year in an examination of the cash cards that the United States is the biggest user of prepaid cards and that by 2017 will account for 53 percent of the worldwide market.

The traditional problems of smuggling large amounts of cash are almost eliminated with the use of prepaid access card.

Jasbir Anand, a senior consultant at ACI, said the funds represented on such cards, which you can easily buy online, could:

travel across borders without limitation. The net impact of these rules would be an increase in the overall cost of debit cards for consumers for record-keeping and storage and so on that will eventually trickle down to fees on the debit card and a limitation on features.

MSNBC continued, “Even as it warns about the potential money laundering threat, the [FATF] also acknowledges that tight restrictions on prepaid cards could have a significant impact on lower-income people unable to ‘take full advantage of mainstream financial service providers’ because they have a poor credit record, for example, or because they have no permanent address and can't qualify for a bank account. That's more than 17 million Americans, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. says, and for them, prepaid cards can be the only way they can gain "ready access to services."

The new rules could cause another problem. Overseas companies and banks that wish to continue doing business here might comply, but U.S. rules can’t be imposed on the thousands of merchants in other countries.

And what about traveling with large amounts of cash? Three Senators — Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Tom Udall (D-N.M.), and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) — introduced legislation last month to close that loophole. It would require travelers to declare "prepaid cards totaling more than $10,000" when they enter or leave the United States, just like cash. But then entities issuing prepaid cards are placed at a competitive disadvantage to traditional or other standard bank cards if travelers find the prepaid cards less attractive. And trying to determine a card’s balance while in flight, or at a gate is burdensome.

FinCEN is developing regulations, as required by the Credit CARD Act of 2009, to address gaps in regulations related to the use of stored value for criminal purposes, but much work remains. And even more vigilance on the part of Americans trying to hold on to both their privacy and their cash.

Phoenix: The False Flag Nuke Target?

by Zen Gardner

Would They Do Such A Thing?

If a false flag nuke is deployed, it will be engineered by a secret cabal of psychopathic power-mongers in cahoots with elements of America’s government and many shadowy agencies. If you haven’t figured that out yet and this is news to you, please keep reading and researching and it will all become clear…I promise.

But would they nuke an innocent city of civilians to accomplish their plan?

Look at history. Dresden. Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The pogroms of past despots where multi-millions were slaughtered.

If the PTBs off-handedly can wipe out 4000+ on 9/11 as well as in other preplanned events like the Lucitania, Pearl Harbor, Oklahoma City, the London, Bali, Spain and Mumbai bombings etc., never mind many, many millions more in wars that preceded and followed, you think they would have any qualms about taking out part of a city to get public sentiment “on page” to more easily accomplish their plan?

All that is necessary for success of “false flag” or “black ops” events is for the government to have its story ready and to have a reliable and compliant media. Once an official story is in place, thought and investigation are precluded. Any formal inquiry that is convened serves to buttress the already provided explanation.
An explanation ready-at-hand is almost a give-away that an incident is a “black ops” event. Notice how quickly the U.S. government, allegedly so totally deceived by al Qaida, provided the explanation for 9/11. When President Kennedy was assassinated, the government produced the culprit immediately. The alleged culprit was conveniently shot inside a jail by a civilian before he could be questioned. But the official story was ready, and it held. Source

Again, to entrain the public’s mind of the possibility and make it clear who did it when it happens.

Same M.O. during WW2. Fight there to protect here. Orwellian hogwash.

Again, the media busy imprinting the possibility and sanitizing the horror by directing your fear and anger at a pre-determined, demonized distant enemy for the sake of “homeland security”.

The Phoenix Connection..And They’re Telling Us?

Intel Hub just reported:

DHS has misplaced their own bomb used in a live drill at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. Report Sept 5 follows after this article. Also we have 1000s of rounds of ammo discovered missing from Ft Bragg Wednesday morning Sept 7. And Obama's visiting San Diego Sept 25.

For the past few days the Department of Homeland Security and other officials have been hunting for live explosives that have “gone missing” from a drill conducted late last week.
The fact that the agency that is supposed to protect Americans from terror is now possibly aiding terrorists by losing track of deadly explosive compounds that could be used or blamed in future events to further control the populace shows just how corrupt and inept most government officials have become.

Are you frikking kidding me? They’re practicing with live bombs? And they LOSE them? And they TELL everybody?

Well, this got me thinking.

I’ve written about this before, but in case you missed it, it’s pretty profoundly interesting about the possible Phoenix connection:

33rd Degree Masonic Phoenix riding high on “Order Out of Chaos”
I’ve often wondered if it would be Phoenix they’d target due to the very strong occult symbolism of the mythical Phoenix used throughout Freemasonry and other secret and royal societies…

And its location.

These long-term seeing Illuminists like to “kill a few birds with one stone” and pre-plan as such. The fallout from a nuke there would drift towards Texas and the gulf, breadbasket area of the country they’ve targeted for years via the engineered and exacerbated Katrina hurricane and deliberately botched non-recovery, and opening an oil volcano and then dumping mega amounts of the nerve toxin corexit oil disaster.

They don’t play nice, and are on a mission of deliberate chaos and destruction. It’s all over the place.

The 33rd Parallel

Phoenix is located squarely on the 33rd parallel…an extremely significant number and location.

Phoenix, Roswell and the White Sands first A-bomb test site, Georgia Guidestones, Baghdad and Hiroshima and Nagasaki were near–to name a few sites and cities, on or very near the significant 33rd parallel.

Coincidence?

There’s also San Diego, where I lived for years.

However, no one’s “bound” to their evil intent on these grid lines. We used the energy line for good, as do many. No way these controllers “own” the esoteric powers. They just twist everything for self-serving purposes. So fear not.

They, however, channel other lower, wicked densities. The world’s 6th largest military installation is stationed in the San Diego area, and it’s known to be an Illuminati stronghold and hugely infested with NWO tech and bio tech companies and other corporate behemoths.

No coincidence.

The number 33 enigmatically stretches as a latitude line across many diverse cultures in many different times. Known in numerology as the Master Teacher, 33 is the most influential of all numbers, indicating selfless devotion to the spiritual progress of humankind. The other two master numbers, 11 (vision) and 22 (vision with action) form the base of a two-dimensional pyramid, and added together equal 33 (guidance to the world), the apex of the pyramid. [1] On the reverse of the Masonically inspired Great Seal of the United States is the pyramid with the all-seeing eye of divine Reason at its apex. According to ritual Freemasonry, XXXIII is considered sacred because in most cases there is no higher degree or level to which a Mason may aspire.

Phoenix occult symbolism..self immolation and resurrection

“The Phoenix … is believed to be a divine bird going back to Egypt … This Phoenix destroys itself in flames and then rises from the ashes. Most occultists believe that the Phoenix is a symbol of Lucifer who was cast down in flames and who they think will one day rise triumphant. This, of course, also relates to the rising of Hiram Abiff, the Masonic ‘christ’.” [Dr. C. Burns, Masonic and Occult Symbols Illustrated , p. 123]

It Would Be Horrific.

I don’t want to bring anything into reality by creating these thoughts and images, but this esoteric stuff is the kind of thing that drives them; occult dates, images, locations, alignments, you name it.

Sorry, I know it’s dark, but it’s true. We need to be aware of how they work.

Any way you slice it, it’s a horrendous thought. But nothing is inevitable.

However, given the track record of these culprits it sure looks like the nuclear false flag option is on the table somewhere, sometime. It clearly would be the ticket to WW3, something they’re itching to get fully underway.

My point here is they could do it. Have no doubt. We have to be aware of the possibility so if it does happen, not to let the tide of fear and frenetic activity sweep us into wrong actions or a state of panic.

We don’t have to take it.

I do not advocate violence, but peaceful non-cooperation. And that starts with freeing our minds and spirits and living confident, fearless lives of love and truth, and helping others do the same.

Disengage from the matrix and conscious, loving actions come spontaneously.

6 Things the Film Industry Doesn’t Want You to Know About

You might know how Hollywood is, or you might not; Don’t let the big ‘stars’ and re-makes distract you. Movies have became so un-orignal today it’s not even funny. They are only to get you interested in buying that ten dollar ticket but leaving you completely disappointed at the end of the movie. I haven’t gone to the movies in over a year now! Think about all the movies you bought on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and soon to-be 3D.. (What a Waste!) Well I came across this interesting article which tells you six things that the film industry doesn’t want you to know:

6. Tricky Hollywood Accounting

Here’s a basic example of Hollywood Accounting: A studio makes a movie. The studio distributes the movie itself, and although the distributor is technically a separate company, they both belong to the same parent company. Also, the distribution arm sets whatever fees it wants. If they want to charge themselves eleventy quintillion dollars for distribution, they totally can. Then, even if the film earns billions of dollars in box office receipts, they’re still technically in debt (to themselves) and thus haven’t turned a profit.

Sound ridiculous? It happens all the freaking time. David Prowse, the guy who was in the Darth Vader costume in the original trilogy of Star Wars (before being ousted by that douche Hayden Christensen in the special edition) has never been paid for Return of the Jedi because it hasn’t turned a profit after nearly 30 years. That’s after dozens of home video and theatrical re-releases. (All the merchandising money goes to Lucas directly, of course.)

Similarly, someone leaked Warner Bros.’ accounting sheet for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix onto the internet, showing that the film that had grossed about $1 billion worldwide had lost $167 million on paper.

5. Extorting Theaters

Ever wondered why popcorn, something that costs $.25 a bag on Planet Earth, costs $7 at the movies? Here’s a hint: it’s not because of the reconstituted pig flesh that they call butter.

Movie theaters have had to look for more and more ways to increase revenue, like jacking up the prices of things at the concessions stand and adding a dozen ads to the beginning of each film. Why, when new releases are constantly breaking records and making obscene amounts of money? Because film studios don’t like the theaters getting their beak wet.

Movie theaters operate on a kind of sliding scale. The first weekend of a movie’s release, the profit is split heavily in the studio’s favor, typically around an 80/20 split. The second weekend, it may change to a 70/30 scale, and so on. It’s even rumored that some major blockbuster films like Avatar are released with 90/10 or even 95/5 splits. Now keep in mind that exceptionally few films do very well after the first week of their release.

So why do the theaters take these awful deals? Because if they don’t, the studio is under no obligation to lease their films to that theater, so they can just totally bounce if they want to. If that happens, the theater has no films to show at all, and then what have they got to draw people in? Overpriced hot dogs?

4. Fake Reviews

Have you ever seen a trailer for a shitty movie on TV and it has one of those blurbs that’s like “…stunning…,” and maybe a soothing voice reads it aloud? You may joke with your friends that the rest of that quote is “a stunning pile of horse shit.” Turns out, that actually happens. It’s not a joke at all. Marketing departments just plain don’t give a fuck. For example, one critic’s review of Live Free or Die Hard got shortened from “hysterically overproduced and surprisingly entertaining” to “hysterically… entertaining.” Sometimes they’ll even take the blurb from parts of the review where the critic was referring to a different movie entirely or the genre as a whole, like when a blurb used for Definitely, Maybe turned out to be from the critic’s description of the romantic comedy genre as a whole and not his actual thoughts on the film.

Another fun trick Hollywood likes to use is trying to woo critics with free screenings, food, set visits, and other goodies. The people who take the bait are called quote whores. If your film needs a good review, they’re there to give it. One of the most infamous is a critic named Earl Dittman, who is the film critic for a publication called Wireless Magazine. You’ve probably never heard of Wireless, and that’s because they apparently have zero subscribers and no web presence, and yet that doesn’t stop film studio marketing departments from using his blurbs like they’re gold. In fact, Dittman was the center of a lot of controversy when an e-mail he sent to Fox contained not one, but ten different blurbs for the movie Robots and instructions for the studio to pick and use whichever one they liked best. But at least Earl Dittman’s a real guy.

3. Copyright Bullshit

Now, I’m not going to sit here and say that copyright sucks and it should be abolished, because I think it’s a useful tool for creators who want to protect their work from douchebags who might rip it off. What sucks is the way that big film companies use copyright as a bludgeon to keep people away from their intellectual property.

See, originally, copyright was limited to a maximum of 28 years. If you created something, you had 28 years to get all you could out of it, because after that it became public domain. Since those days, copyright terms have been extended numerous times, and each time one company has been leading the charge: Disney.

Each time the copyright on Steamboat Willie is about to run out, Disney loses their shit and lobbies the government to pass another copyright extension law. Although a popular explanation for this is that they’d lose the rights to Mickey Mouse if Steamboat Willie were to become public domain, that’s not the case. Mickey Mouse is actually a trademarked property, and trademarks are perpetual as long as the company continues to use it. (If you haven’t noticed, Disney uses the fuck out of Mickey Mouse.) The simple fact is that Disney still makes lots of money selling DVDs and merchandise relating to Steamboat Willie.

In fact, Duke University compiled a list of all of the films that could have entered the public domain this year if Disney hadn’t argued for the law to be changed in 1976. Movies like On The Waterfront and Seven Samurai, and even the first two books of The Lord of the Rings would be in the public domain now, free for anyone to use and enjoy and remix and learn from. As it stands now, Steamboat Willie remains under copyright until 2023, and even fairly boring things like the very first issue of Sports Illustrated are protected until 2050. You can imagine what that means for movies that came out this year.

Here’s something funny, though: Some legal experts believe that Steamboat Willie may have never been registered for copyright at all. Nowadays, the very act of creating something gives you copyright, whether you register it or not, but back then, you had to specifically register the copyright for the works you wanted protected, and you had to label it in a very certain way afterward. A Disney researcher, Gregory Brown, believes that Walt Disney may have improperly formatted the copyright notice on Steamboat Willie, thus making the copyright void. In fact, a law student at Arizona State University researched Brown’s claims and agreed with him. Not only that, but a George Washington University copyright expert agreed with both of them and published a paper saying so. It was at this point that Disney took notice of the issue and actually threatened to sue him for “slander of title.” Holy shit, Disney.

2. Strangling Consumer Choice

If you’re like many millions of other Netflix customers, you were probably pissed off when they jacked up their prices last month, effectively doubling the cost of some people’s subscriptions. And before that, you were probably annoyed when they started putting out their DVDs 28 days after they went on sale. And maybe you’re mad now that they’re losing their contract with Starz because they had an argument about money.

It’s almost like Netflix got tired of making money or something. Why do they keep doing all this stupid stuff? Well, simply put, it’s not really their fault. You see, film studios aren’t the biggest fans of things like Netflix, Redbox, or Hulu. You know, those things that allow you to pick and choose what you want to watch when you want to watch it for a reasonable, affordable price. The reason is that it eats into their sales of DVDs and pay-per-view rentals, for which they get a much higher cut of the profit. As DVD sales drop, movie studios panic.

So, instead of adapting their business model to a format that consumers obviously prefer, they’d rather try to turn back the clock and take away the distribution methods people love and enjoy. That means demanding more money from Netflix to lease their movies, ever-increasing delays between a DVD’s release and its availability out of Redbox machines, and putting Hulu, a service created by the content creators themselves, up on the auction block when it ended up being too successful. The Time Warner CEO has even taken to blasting Netflix in the press for the last year, describing them as a “fading star.” You’d fade, too, if someone wrapped their hands around your throat.

1. Stealing Scripts

Remember Art Buchwald from earlier? The guy who almost got screwed by Paramount before a judge stepped in and told them to cut that shit out? Well, there’s a little more to that story. A few years before the big court case, Buchwald was already a successful humor writer and satirist, even winning himself a Pulitzer for his work. Then he set his sights on Hollywood, and he pitched Paramount an idea for a movie about an African prince who moves to America to find a bride. He suggested Eddie Murphy as a lead actor. (That’s right, kids. People used to want Eddie Murphy in their movies.)

Paramount took the pitch, but then had trouble getting it off the ground. Eventually, the rights returned to Buchwald and he pitched it to Warner Bros. Shortly after they began work on it, though, Warner Bros. killed the project. Turns out, there was a similar film going into production at Paramount. It was a movie about an African prince who moves to America to find a bride. Oh, and it starred Eddie Murphy, who was also given writing credit. That movie, of course, was Coming to America. Buchwald was furious and immediately took Paramount to court, which instigated the events discussed back in the Hollywood Accounting entry. So Buchwald didn’t just get screwed, he almost got double-screwed. But he’s not the only one.

Turns out, some of those crazy people who constantly crop up and say Hollywood producers ripped off their scripts aren’t so crazy. In fact, it turns out that it’s a dirty little secret of Hollywood’s that stealing scripts is almost commonplace. Jeff Grosso wrote a script about his life as a professional Texas Hold ‘Em player and had it turned down by Miramax, only for them to turn around and begin production on an identical project that became the Matt Damon film Rounders. Another writer, Reed Martin, pitched his idea and, like Buchwald, even recommended the perfect actor for his script– Bill Murray. Months later, an exceptionally similar movie, Broken Flowers (starring Bill Murray, of course), went into production without Martin. Although Martin’s claim survived many attempts at dismissal, it saw a trial in which a jury sided with the studio. Due to the high cost of the appeals process (an approximated $800,000), he has (to date) not filed an appeal.

The problem is that while scripts can be copyrighted, ideas cannot. So, if Hollywood gets pitched an idea and likes it, but doesn’t want to deal with the whole “paying for the script” thing, they can just hire someone to write another script based on “their” idea. Since they have much bigger, meaner lawyers than your average spec script writer, the writer kinda gets boned. So even the mythical “original idea” in Hollywood? Yeah, it may not be so original after all.

20 Ways to Deal With Regrets

I regret losing all of my money and then losing my house. I regret not spending more time with my kids when they were little and I regret not saving the life of my dad when I could’ve.

In 2000 I was buying every IPO I could. It was already after the dot-com bust. I bought 50,000 shares of GoAmerica at $20. It went down to $1. I don’t know where it is now. I think now they give wireless devices to deaf people. I made lots of decisions like that. I went completely broke doing that. ZERO. So I took all the equity out of my apartment, about $1 million. Then I did the same thing. I lost all of that money also. Someone asked me how much money. The summer of 2000 I lost $15 million in cash. All of my money. I regret it.

I regret going broke. I could’ve helped people. I could’ve started other businesses. I could’ve helped my dad when he had a stroke. There was a new device I had read about that would have rotated him around in the air to stimulate his brain cells. It would’ve cost maybe $100,000 or more to fly him across the country and have him try the device. But I couldn’t afford it. I had no money and I had the IRS up my ass. After everything he had done for me. I couldn’t afford to save his life.

I regret all the stress I felt for years as I tried climbing back. It wore on me. Now my stomach is constantly in pain no matter how much I meditate, pray, relieve stress, do yoga. It will take years to untie the knots in my stomach, if they ever get untied.

There were women. I regret what I did to them. I regret the tears one of them had when she told me I had to go. She hated me. I regret the baby that was killed.

I regret the six days a week I spent working in the city. My daughter, Josie, would have a nightmare at night. She’d wake up crying. I couldn’t climb into her bed and hear about the nightmare of a 4 year old and comfort her until she fell back to sleep. I was never there. I regret all those moments I couldn’t comfort her tiny voice as she explained things and explained things and explained things over and over again as she tried to understand the world around her.

I regret the two businesses I started when going through a separation in 2008. I wasn’t ready yet to begin a life. I regret getting people involved in those businesses when they were destined to amount to nothing.

I regret hitting a man and breaking both his legs when I ran through a stop sign while driving a car when I was 18.

Everyone has regrets. Historical is hysterical. It’s easy to look back at the past now and see the road signs we missed. The forks in the road we could’ve taken. Those forks are regrets. Is it bad to look back? Of course not. I can’t help it. I have regrets every day.

But you can’t move forward until you move past the regrets. It’s impossible.

20 Ways to Deal With Regret

A) Ask yourself, “What am I doing TODAY?” Today is the day we care about. Where we can improve ourselves, help people. Move forwards. What are you doing today? This is a good mental discipline. WHEN Regret comes up about yesterday, ASK yourself, “What am I doing TODAY?” Practice this. Then practice it again.

B) The Daily Practice.

Ultimately, it has consistently been the only way I’ve been able to bounce back from events that caused me deep regret. Otherwise I sink into them. They bury me. In a book I have coming out in a few weeks I write about modifications to the Practice that has made it easier for me when I’ve been totally on the floor and unable to pick myself up.

C) Some parts of the Daily Practice need kickstarting to work. I start with The Power of Negative Thinking. Or Nine Ways to Light Your Creativity ON Fire. The first post deals with how to build a discipline of labeling thoughts “useful” or “not useful”. You have a finite number of thoughts in life before you die. Might as well make as many of them as possible “useful”. This is hard. For me, it’s like telling myself to exercise every day when I spent the first 40 years of my life not exercising. Something I regret. “Not useful”.

D) Make friends. Make sure you don’t talk about your regrets with your friends. Are your friends trying to improve their lives? You can be inspired by them and they can be inspired by you.

E) Don’t judge people. The other day I wrote about a dinner I went to. I was surprised how many people wrote me disparaging the IQ of one of the people at the dinner even though they didn’t know that person. In order to judge someone you don’t know you have to have a lot insecurity and ego. It’s hard to get rid of that insecurity. One way to do it is to never judge people. Particularly people you don’t know. That’s a good way to practice not judging yourself.

F) Honesty. Honesty can lead to wealth. Being honest also helps you avoid denial about your regrets. Stop blaming others. It’s important to realize that both Most things don’t work out AND most of the time, It’s Your Fault. I was often in denial about both of those things. They are both truths.

G) Laugh. Watch a funny movie. When I was going through a period of deep regret I watched the movie “Superbad” probably about 20 times in a row and I wish I could say I am exaggerating. That movie saved my life. Laughter reduces stress, brings you to Today. Leaves behind yesterday.

H) Deal with Failure. When I was a kid everyone told me I was a genius. Expectations were really high for me. It was extra hard for me to realize later on that I was far from it. Everyone had told my dad he was a genius also. When it came time for his regrets he couldn’t get over it. It sunk him like a bag of cement in the ocean and he never swam again. I’m always afraid to be like him. It’s ok to fail. Hey, what are you doing today?

I) Good will. Practice this: everyone you see on the street today – wish them well. Wish that they all make a lot of money and have a lot of health and that they are all having passionate sex with someone tonight. I never watched that movie “the Secret” but I imagine this is the real Secret: wish enough people good will and eventually good will happen to you.

J) Stop being brainwashed. A lot of my posts (don’t go to college, don’t own a home, abolish the Presidency) are there because I like to think in opposites. Some people write me and say, “are you just trying to be sensational?” No! I’m trying not to be brainwashed all the time. I know that with 10,000 ad and media impressions hitting my eyes every day that I am constantly being brainwashed by the Zombie Recruitment Machine. Training your mind to think in opposites helps you avoid being brainwashed. This includes reducing the number of ad impressions and media impressions you see each day. Replace that time with time with friends. Or time sitting by yourself. The more brainwashing, the more regrets.

L) Should have, could have, would have. These are never useful phrases. Even when analyzing a situation that led to a regret (and it’s important to analyze your losses). Instead of saying, “I could have done X” ( a regret) say, “Next time I’m in a similar situation, I’ll do X”. If you know you’re never going to be in a similar situation then no reason to do the analysis. Historical is hysterical. What are you doing Today!?

M) Don’t deal with Crappy People. I don’t care if you have to see them every day. At the dance. I see every girl but I don’t have to dance with every girl. Don’t dance with the crappy people. Always check yourself on each interaction – did I just dance with them? You don’t need them to like you. Who cares if crappy people like you?

N) Don’t drink. I know a girl who is filled with regrets. “Was I bad to my ex-husband?” “Did I eat too much?” “Did I miss this opportunity?” I asked her, “What did you do last night?” She tells me she hung out with people she’s constantly trashed to me in the past, she ate at the fanciest steakhouse in town, and she drank and had a hangover in the morning. I said, “can you stop doing that?” And she was honest and said, “I don’t think so.” That was one of the last times I spoke to her. I used to drink all night with her. I know what it’s like. She won’t be able to stop the regrets. People don’t usually give this as advice because it’s so built up into our culture to have a drink occasionally. Fine, have a drink occasionally. But the drug is a depressant so just limit the number of depressants you put in your body.

O) List the positives. List all the good things that came out of the moments you regret. If I had never lost all my money a decade ago I never would’ve started other businesses, this blog, I never would’ve met all the amazing people I’ve met since. I never would’ve met Claudia. I never would’ve had the relationship with my daughters I have now. I probably wouldn’t be living right by the river, in relative peace.

(Superbad)

P) Mourn. We often regret actions we’ve done that caused us to lose things that were important to us. In most traditions, there’s a mourning period when people die and then you are told to move on. So mourn for those things that were important to you. Mourn the money you lost or the people who left you. Pray that everything works out for the best. Give yourself a time period for mourning. Then move on.

Q) Look to your left and look to your right. When I was in school a common refrain used by professors was, “look to your left and look to your right. One of the people you just looked at is going to fail this class.” You can do the same here: look to your left and look to your right. Both people you just looked at have done things they later wished they could undo, have done things they deny in order to survive the pain, have done things that have cost them severely. Just acknowledging that helps you to deal with your own regrets. We’re all trying to be happy. We all have expecations that are probably too high. We all do stupid things along the way. It’s not the stupid things that makes us worse people, it’s how we deal with them afterwards. What are you doing today?

R) Sorry. Say “I’m sorry” when you can. It doesn’t matter if your apology is accepted. That’s the other person’s issue. But if you say you’re sorry, you’ve at least acknowledged that you’ve made a mistake and you’re ready to move on. If you regret something you did to yourself, say you’re sorry to yourself. Accept the apology. Try to be friends again with yourself.

S) Eat What You Kill. Reduce reliance on others. Even a boss or a job. Learning how to eat what you kill will reduce the things you will later regret. It will also force you to focus on what’s going on today instead of the past. Else you don’t eat.

T) Be passionate about your work. If you aren’t, then quit. Don’t blame the recession or the job market. Those are media myths. They aren’t about you.

Why did I write this post?

I wrote this because many people in the last three or four weeks have asked me how to get off the floor after doing things they deeply regret. It’s not easy. It doesn’t happen in a day. It has to happen EVERY day.

I think a lot of people have lost money in the most recent stock market downturn. Or a lot of people are afraid by the horrible and misleading headlines in the media. Or a lot of people are afraid of the worst case scenario of what’s going on. I know I am. I lost money also in this downturn. I regret it.

Today I’m going to make sure I can practice The Daily Practice I recommend. I’m also going to attempt to be creative. I’ll play games with my daughters. I’ll watch a funny TV show. I’ll return emails to people who were kind to me. I’ll attempt use my own advice to not be angry at the people who try to bring me down. I’ll fight the fears that constantly come up.

I think every day about the money I’ve lost and the people I could’ve helped with that money. I also regret what I’ve done to certain people. But I expected too much from myself. I expected too much from others who have let me down. Look to your left. Look to your right. What are you going to do today?
