Bus Plunges Into Ravine in Southern Italy Killing 38, What's the Motive?

It's the same old, same old. Thirty eight people die in a bus crash. Corporate English media names none of them. Of the 38 lives, there isn't one human interest story to report. There is the stony wall of silence. Even in Italian media not all the victims are named. In a random sample I choose one that appeals to me Biagio Vallefuoco. It's not like it's hard with search engines to get some poignant details in a few seconds. An investigative reporter would surely do that if there were a few left.
The corporate media practice the code of silence OmertĂ  in its original Italian. You would assume the finding of a controversial name in the invisible list would change the whole fabric of the investigation from 'accident' to homicide. That would be the mark of a reporter par excellence. The reason they refuse to publish the list is that possession of even one name searched will lead you to the rest. An inquisitive mind might do what I do look.
Biagio Vallefuoco
In an earlier day a man named Biagio Vallefuoco was headlined in a financial scandal. Too bad he's hiding his face.
The above Biagio Vallefuoco was a lawyer implicated in a €200 thousand to Italy Telecom. The Chairman and CEO of Italy Telecom is Franco Bernabè. That probably means nothing to most of you. Franco sits on many boards including Petro China. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the Vice Chairman of Rothschild Europe. So you can clearly see how much damage can be done with only one name.
An aerial view showing the overturned bus.
So what was the price paid in pain and suffering to get one man? What were the all for one?
The world moves at the speed of the predator not the prey. Although few really consider themselves the prey they are so far removed from reality which is veiled levels of conspiracy that can rise infinitely higher. With one quick search we touched the sky. Who is the point of the sword? MOI!

Edward Snowden: Solar-Flare ‘Killshot’ Cataclysm Imminent

MOSCOW, Russia – Edward Snowden, hacker-fugitive and former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor, revealed Tuesday that a series of solar flares is set to occur in September, killing hundreds of millions of people. Documents provided by Snowden prove that, as of 14 years ago, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) remote viewers knew that the event was inevitable. Ever since, the world’s governments have quietly been trying to prepare for the sweeping global famine to result.

Speaking from his room at Sheremetyevo Airport’s Hotel Novotel, Snowden revealed that government preparations for September’s catastrophic solar flares have been “to only limited avail.” The flares’ results, he said, are known casually throughout the global intelligence community as “the killshot.”

Remote viewers employed by the CIA’s Project Stargate use their ability to perceive geographically and chronologically distant events to protect America. Since 1999 they have known about the solar-flare event but have been threatened into silence by enforcers on the secret government’s payroll.

As a part of hiring Snowden as a contractor, the NSA granted the 30-year-old access to all communications on earth. Now he has provided The Internet Chronicle with top-secret Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) documents outlining just how terrible the solar flares’ results will be. In just two months, “the killshot” is set to disable all electronic food and water delivery systems.

Ever since the late 20th century, hundreds of millions of people have begun to rely on technological automation to enable their very lives. Solar flares release electromagnetic pulses, hazardous to electronic circuits. The smallest electronic circuits, such as those in computers’ central processing units, will be the most vulnerable.

Snowden said FEMA and the National Disaster Reduction Center of China have been taking steps for 14 years in light of the findings of Project Stargate. FEMA’s own documents, provided by Snowden, lay out how the organization plans to round up tens of millions of the poorest Americans for housing at secure locations “to better facilitate feeding and provision of consumer goods.”

Snowden, for years a CIA contractor, released testimonials from hundreds of remote viewers. Many of those remote viewers are still on the payroll of the governments of the United States and the Russian Federation. Those testimonials, though written independently by the analysts, are comprised of 4,472 pages, every single one of which, alarmingly, evince Snowden’s account.

“The massive electromagnetic pulse from the solar flares, or ‘the killshot,’ will shutter most of the world’s electrical systems,” said Snowden. “The Americans whose lives are most at risk are the elderly and the infirmed, those who depend on technology to enable their receiving home care or life-sustaining medical treatment.”

Throughout the 1970s and the 1990s, Russia and the United States were desperate to track and monitor the construction and maintenance of each other’s nuclear silos. The nations’ governments openly admitted having poured billions of dollars into the training of elite teams of remote viewers. With their powers, the remote viewers were able to deter nuclear launches and, ultimately, bring an end to the Cold War.  In the mid-’90s, the CIA simply pretended to close its remote-viewing program, so that it could operate more effectively.

Snowden said he hopes that his coming forward will allow Project Stargate’s participants to be able to live normal, open lives again, “instead of as circus animals, instead of as freaks.” He added, “[Significant others of Project Stargate employees] have to get Q clearances just to cohabitate with, without even marrying, their loved ones. That’s tantamount to slavery.”

Humanity is about to pay a most dire price for its technological dependence. That price, said Snowden, proved a leading factor in his decision to come forward to the press – about both the global Holocaust to ensue, as well as NSA analysts’ power, on the slightest whim, to listen to the phone calls of any person on earth.

Snowden said, with regard to CIA remote viewers, “I have seen too many brave whistleblowers become subjects of smear and ridicule for using their talents to expose the truth.” Added Snowden, bitterly, “Well, we’ll see who’s Mr. Chuckles when ‘the killshot’ goes down.”

WikiLeaks attorneys; and Anatoly Kucherena, Snowden’s own counsel, together produced a video calling for calm and global preparedness. Monday, Snowden sent the video, below, to the Russian Federal Migration Service as part of his call for asylum.

3-HOUR FREE Movie.  Explore the fascinating history behind the Masonic and Rosicrucian influence so prevalent amongst the ILLUMINATI's Founding Fathers as they planned the layout of America's Capitol. For years, extreme controversy has abounded as to the exact meaning of the occult symbols found within the street layout, the buildings, and the monuments of Washington, D.C. Was this city laid out to reflect the vision of a Masonic Christ foreseen by Sir Francis Bacon? Is it true that America's capitol was laid out according to the astrological shapes of certain planets and stars so revered by occultists? Does this occult "wisdom" represent the interests of America, or a hidden agenda? What can these realities mean for the unfolding destiny of America and the world? Now you will know that, when President Bush said he was fulfilling the "Ancient Hope" of the "New Order of the Ages" he was merely acting out the plan reflected in the street layout and in the architecture of Washington, D.C.

The Evil Psychology Behind A Cops Uniform And Badge. The Stanford Prison Experiment Revisited

In 1971, a bizarre experiment funded by the US Navy, and carried out in the basement of Stanford U, showed exactly how quickly normal, everyday people can quickly turn into psychotic creeps, just because they are given authority over others. But one of the major findings of the experiment was the effect of the uniform, and in the experiment, a baton and handcuffs.

The researchers set up a mock prison in the basement of Standford University’s psychology building, and then selected 24 undergraduate students to play the roles of both prisoners and guards. The participants were selected from a larger group of 70 volunteers because they had no criminal background, lacked psychological issues and had no major medical conditions. The volunteers agreed to participate for a one- to two-week period in exchange for $15 a day.

While the Stanford Prison Experiment was originally slated to last 14 days, it had to be stopped after just six days due to what was happening to the student participants. The guards became abusive and the prisoners began to show signs of extreme stress and anxiety.

While the prisoners and guards were allowed to interact in any way they wanted, the interactions were generally hostile or even dehumanizing. The guards began to behave in ways that were aggressive and abusive toward the prisoners, while the prisoners became passive and depressed. Five of the prisoners began to experience such severe negative emotions, including crying and acute anxiety, that they had to be released from the study early.

In 1971, police uniforms looked like this.

40 yrs later, as citizens have pushed back against abusive police, the police have become much more abusive, and much more intimidating.

The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city-Ron Paul

The more America is moved towards a police state, the more aggressive, and deadly the police will become, just like the Stanford Experiment showed. And the more citizens will break down psychologically and do things they wouldn’t normally due, because no one likes to be pushed into a corner..
It’s time that the citizens wake up to this intentional psychological agenda by the people we call “authorities”, and reign in their “authority”, and remind them that they serve us. Cops need to take a look at themselves, and seriously question why they wanted to become cops in the first place, and ask themselves if they have become abusive bullies, just like in the Stanford experiment.
I don’t know, maybe we should make the cops wear white, and take away their fancy, expensive black unmarked cars, and take away their armored vehicles, because if we let this go any further, we too will become like the prisoners in the Stanford Experiment, ya know what I mean?

Ghosts of Waco Could they end the reign of Obama? Documentary:Waco, A New Revelation

Could the tragic events of Waco bring down the President and the Democrat machine after 20 years?  Mike McNulty, producer of the Emmy Award winning, Academy Award nominated documentary Waco: Rules of Engagement, and its follow-up films, Waco, A New Revelation, and The FLIR Project, believes it could.  McNulty says that the close ties between the Waco atrocity and members of the Obama administration – including Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, and powerful congressional Democrats, could unravel the administration and the entire Washington power structure.

McNulty insists that Hillary Clinton in particular was deeply involved in the Waco debacle and in the multiple cover-ups that followed, and that criminal prosecutions could be brought against her and others, “There’s no statute of limitations on murder,” says McNulty.

That’s a pretty dramatic allegation, but McNulty says that’s where the evidence leads, and no one knows the evidence of the Waco tragedy better than McNulty.  He and his experts were given unprecedented access to the Waco files and evidence locker during the making of the documentaries, and they carefully catalogued what they found – including items that were incorrectly identified in the official records.

McNulty is no wild-eyed conspiracy theorist either.  He was credited with debunking several claims made by earlier documentarians who distorted the evidence to fit their own anti-government agendas.  McNulty and his team went to extreme lengths to verify every detail and validate each assertion they have made regarding the event, and there is much damning evidence which is totally irrefutable.  Actions of the government after the violent conclusion of the Waco siege strongly suggest an organized, intentional effort to obscure and conceal the facts of the case.  Failure to follow standard investigative procedures, failure to protect the scene or collect certain significant evidence, loss of important evidence, and destruction of evidence, along with multiple incidences of conflicting statements – including statements under oath – from various government officials, with no formal follow-up, resolution, or consequences, go well beyond simple incompetence and in many cases are clearly criminal.

The fact that so many of those responsible for directing the operation and its aftermath are still power-players in Washington, means that revelation of the truth of Waco could have devastating effects on the current power structure.  Just the role of Obama’s close friend, Attorney General Eric Holder, in demonizing the Waco survivors, and leading the official cover-up – especially when aggregated with his more recent scandals – should end his career and the careers of several of his closest allies, and would disgrace the entire administration.

Hillary Clinton’s role in the assault on the Davidian campus and its subsequent cover-up has never been fully disclosed.  McNulty says that his information indicates that Mrs. Clinton was not only involved, but in command, directing the FBI’s actions from the White House, and leading the subsequent cover-up.  The Texas Rangers have said that their objections to the destruction of the Waco evidence were squelched directly by the White House.  Texas Governor Rick Perry would do well to sit down and have a candid conversation with those Texas Rangers and then seriously consider pursuing prosecutions.

When Clinton’s close friend and former law partner, Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster, was found dead, his widow told FBI investigators that she believed that “Foster was horrified when the Branch Davidian complex burned,” and that “Foster believed that everything was his fault.”

Somehow Mrs. Foster’s statement to the FBI has been almost totally overlooked by the media – and even by most of those insisting that his death was murder.  The obvious question that never seems to have been asked is, why would Vince Foster, whose primary role in the White House was to support and protect the Clintons, feel responsible for the deaths at Waco?

At the time of Foster’s death, the FBI ordered that his office be sealed as part of their standard homicide investigation, but at least 2 boxes of files were removed from Foster’s office and taken to the residence area of the White House.  Those files were never recovered, and their removal from Foster’s office was never officially investigated.

If the ghosts of Waco were to come home to roost, they would be sitting on the shoulders of some of Obama’s closest friends and allies in Washington – all of them outspoken advocates for citizen disarmament.  This 20-year old atrocity could be the key to bringing down the whole house of cards.
McNulty has recently released a 20th Anniversary DVD twin-pack containing both Waco, A New Revelation, and The FLIR Project, and he’s actively searching for financial backing to make a follow-up documentary chasing down the lost evidence and exposing details of the extensive government cover-up.  If he can secure the funding – and survive – McNulty believes he can finally force some accountability for the atrocity.

The 20th Anniversary DVD set is available from our friends at Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (www.JPFO.org)  or directly from McNulty on his web site at www.CopsProductions.com.

Burzynski: Cancer is Serious Business Part II The Movie (The Cure For Cancer)?

Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski received much deserved publicity with the release of the 2011 film, Burzynski—The Movie.
Eric Merola’s award-winning documentary showcased Dr. Burzynski’s remarkable cancer discovery for all the world to see, and explained how he won the largest and possibly the most convoluted and intriguing legal battles against the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in American history.
Dr. Burzynski’s story now continues in the compelling follow-up film: Burzynski—Cancer Is Serious Business, Part II. This second film details his continued struggles and victories, and explores the current status of Antineoplastons’ clinical testing—now (finally) sanctioned by the FDA.

Dr. Burzynski's Cancer Treatment

Dr. Burzynski, trained as both a biochemist and a physician, has spent the last 35+ years developing and successfully treating cancer patients suffering with some of the most lethal forms of cancer at his clinic in Houston, Texas.
The treatment he developed involves a gene-targeted approach using non-toxic peptides and amino acids, known as Antineoplastons. I personally interviewed Dr. Burzynski about his treatment in the summer of 2011.
He coined the term ”antineoplastons” and defines them as peptides and derivatives of amino acids that act as molecular switches. However, as genome research blossomed and science progressed, Dr. Burzynski discovered that antineoplastons also work as genetic switches.
They actually turn off the genes that cause cancer (oncogenes), and turn on or activate tumor suppressor genes—genes that fight cancer. His treatment strategy, which he refers to as “Personalized Gene Targeted Cancer Therapy,” includes mapping the patient's entire cancer genome.
This involves analyzing some 24,000 genes in order to identify the abnormal genes. Once they've determined which genes are involved in the cancer, drugs and supplements are identified to target those specific genes.
Antineoplastons work on approximately 100 cancer-causing genes, but traditional oncology agents (including chemotherapy) may also be used, typically in combination with antineoplastons. This expanded direction of “personalized gene-targeted treatment" has permitted people who would otherwise be denied access to the still-unapproved antineoplastons to benefit from his treatment.

The War on Cancer Cures

As the first film in this series clearly revealed, the FDA began scheming to eliminate the threat Dr. Burzynski and his discovery posed to the cancer industry as early as 1977, when Dr. Burzynski first tried to get antineoplastons approved.
The reason he was (and still is) considered a significant threat to the cancer industry is because he’s the sole patent holder of the treatment, which means he’s the sole beneficiary, should the FDA approve Antineoplastons—not a pharmaceutical company and the bosses thereof.
As a matter of fact, Dr. Burzynski is the first and only scientist in United States’ history to enter the federal drug approval process for a proprietary cancer therapy without any financial support from the American government, the pharmaceutical industry, or the cancer establishment.
Vast amounts of money are at stake, since FDA approval of Antineoplastons would not only threaten conventional chemotherapy and radiation, it would also result in billions of dollars of cancer research funds being funneled over to the one single scientist who has exclusive patent rights—Dr. Burzynski.
The sad fact is, as stated by Dr. Julian Whitaker in the featured film, that true medical breakthroughs are suppressed these days because they “put at risk the entire financial underpinnings” of medicine.
If a medical breakthrough replaces failing therapies, the cash flow and profits of those failing therapies are lost forever, and the industry simply chooses profits over cures... Instead of investing in actual cures, medicine, over the past five decades, has invested in awareness campaigns. But, as Dr. Whitaker points out, awareness does not cure the disease, and will never lead to a cure, no matter how much money is raised by these campaigns, for the simple fact that there’s too much vested interest in therapies that fail and perpetuate a money-making disease.

Cancer Is Serious Business

In recent years, the focus for cancer therapy has increasingly shifted toward individualized gene-targeted cancer treatment, such as that provided by Dr. Burzynski for the past decade. So it’s no wonder, really, that the industry has tried so hard to get rid of him, in order to protect their own profits and access to research funds. Burzynski—Cancer is Serious Business, picks up where the first movie left off, detailing Dr. Burzynski’s continued struggles and victories, and explores the current status of Antineoplastons’ clinical testing, now sanctioned by the FDA. It also follows the progress of several of his patients. As described in the film’s synopsis:1
“For most patients undergoing Burzynski’s treatment, their advanced cancer itself runs secondary to the constant barrage of skepticism coming not only from their local oncologists, but also from friends and family who feel their loved ones are making suspect treatment decisions—even though mainstream oncology has already left many for dead.
As the story unfolds, you will observe a real-time change of hearts and minds from many of these doctors and families. Unlike the first documentary, Part II showcases interviews with board-certified oncologists, surgeons and neurosurgeons, who witnessed patients leave their care, soon to return in great health after opting for the Burzynski Clinic.”

National Cancer Institute Acknowledges Antineoplastons’ Success

Incredibly, in August of last year, America's National Cancer Institute (NCI) finally acknowledged and cited some of Burzynski's peer-reviewed Antineoplaston studies, as well as findings by Japanese researchers who have been independently reproducing Antineoplaston clinical trial studies since the 1980's, without any involvement by Dr. Burzynski. One of the most remarkable admissions by The National Cancer Institute is the following:2
"A Phase II study also conducted by the developer and his associates at his clinic reported on 12 patients with recurrent diffuse intrinsic brainstem glioma. Of the 10 patients who were evaluable, two achieved complete tumor response, three had partial tumor response, three had stable disease, and two had progressive disease."
What’s truly remarkable about this is that a brainstem glioma has simply never been cured before in the history of medicine—Antineoplastons hold the first cures ever! In the featured film, you will also learn how a Japanese team, consisting of pathologists, oncologists and surgeons, has conducted the first-ever independently-run randomized controlled human clinical trials on Antineoplastons, and the results thereof. According to Dr. Hideaki Tsuda, MD with the Kurume Medical University in Japan:
"After 27 years of independently testing Antineoplastons—including randomized clinical trials, we found that Dr. Burzynski was right. It's obviously not anecdotal anymore.”

The Story Everyone Needs to Know

Dr. Burzynski has developed a cancer treatment that surpasses all other treatments on the market today, and the FDA and the pharmaceutical industry knows it. They also know his treatment threatens the entire paradigm of the cancer industry, which is based on expensive treatments with a high rate of failure and retreatment.
For the past 15 years, they’ve harassed him, tried to take away his medical license, and even tried to put him in prison for life—all in order to protect the status quo. Adding insult to injury, you and I have been paying for the brutal opposition to Dr. Burzynski’s cancer treatment this whole time. The US government spent $60 million on legal fees for just one of his trials alone.
Still, Dr. Burzynski has prevailed, and the truth about his gene-targeted treatment is finally receiving some well-deserved acknowledgment. After all, Dr. Burzynski has published over 300 articles on Antineoplastons, many of them peer-reviewed. And more than 100 independent Antineoplaston studies have been published, including those from Japan.

Support a Cancer Cure, Not Merely the Awareness of the Condition

Earlier this year, a group of patients and patient advocates launched a campaign to have Antineoplastons accepted worldwide as a “standard of care” for the treatment of cancer.3 For more information, please see www.iwantanp.com:
“Unlike all other cancer research campaigns which rely 100% on awareness alone, we realize that awareness itself does not cure the disease. Medications such as Antineoplastons are what can lead to the cure of the disease of cancer.
If the United States still refuses to allow Antineoplastons into its marketplace, we will then make sure another country will be properly funded to set up the proper channels for Antineoplastons to be approved for their marketplace. Another avenue would be simply opening up a massive Antineoplastons clinic allowing the cancer patients of the world to seek treatment using Antineoplastons.
Upon gaining either market approval—or the funding the construction of an Antineoplaston clinic overseas, our funds will then go to make sure everyone who cannot afford to travel overseas to receive Antineoplaston therapy—can do so by requesting money through this organization.
Either way, whether the market or its government's regulatory agencies want Antineoplastons available to its citizens or not—Antineoplastons are here to stay, and the members of our global human family deserve the right to have access to them.”

America’s 50 Worst Charities Exposed

Scam artists show up in the wake of every disaster. Like vultures circling above road kill, they swoop in on any opportunity to take advantage of the disadvantaged, capitalizing on your compassion and manipulating your emotion.
Charities and nonprofits are the perfect vehicles in which these scammers can hide in plain sight.  “Charitable organizations” run the gamut from upright and successful, to well meaning but incompetent, to corrupt, greedy and devious—and everything in between.
How do you know where a particular organization fits along this spectrum?  We’d all like to think our hard-earned dollars are going to be used for the highest good, but how do we really know?

Many Charities are NOT Above Lying and Cheating to Get Your Money

The Tampa Bay Times and the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) partnered with CNN in a yearlong investigation to evaluate America’s worst charities and created a list of the 50 worst.
The results of their investigation are shocking, in terms of the measures some people will sink to in the name of profit. Take Kids Wish Network, for example. Kids Wish Network tops the list of the 50 Worst Charities, giving nearly $110 million to corporate solicitors and massaging donations with a variety of unsavory tactics.1
For example, Kids Wish did what many devious organizations do: it adopted a name that mimics a well-known charity in order to fool donors—in this case, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America.
Every year, Kids Wish Network raises millions of dollars in donations supposedly to help dying children and their families. But for every dollar donated, only 3 cents actually goes to those children and families.
The other 97 cents goes into the bank accounts of the company’s operators, and for-profit companies hired by Kids Wish to drum up donations. I wish I could say Kids Wish was an isolated case, but unfortunately, they are just one of many.
According to CNN1:
“In the past decade alone, Kids Wish has channeled nearly $110 million donated for sick children to its corporate solicitors. An additional $4.8 million has gone to pay the charity's founder and his own consulting firms. No charity in the nation has siphoned more money away from the needy over a longer period of time.”

Is Your Favorite Charity on this List?

To identify America's 50 worst charities, the Times and CIR examined tens of thousands of pages of public government records from 36 states. They were looking for a specific kind of charity—those writing fat checks to for-profit corporations to raise the vast majority of their donations, year in and year out. Of course, the more money that’s given to solicitors, the less that is used for direct aid.
Several watchdog organizations say charities should spend no more than 35 percent of the money they raise on fund-raising expenses. However, the investigation identified hundreds of charities giving their hired solicitors more than twice that much—often more than two-thirds of the take. Investigators found these organizations to be rampant with fraud, waste and mismanagement.
Data from this investigation show the worst charities devote less than four percent to direct cash aid. Some gave even less, and five on the list gave zero percent. The top 10 worst charities are listed in the following table, alongside the percentage each spent on direct cash aid.2
Name Total Raised by Solicitors Total Paid to Solicitors Percentage Spent on Direct Cash Aid
Kids Wish Network $127.8 million $109.8 million 2.5%
Cancer Fund of America 98 million 80.4 million 0.9%
Children’s Wish Foundation 96.8 million 63.6 million 10.8%
American Breast Cancer Foundation 80.8 million 59.8 million 5.3%
Firefighters Charitable Foundation 63.8 million 54.7 million 8.4%
Breast Cancer Relief Foundation 63.9 million 44.8 million 2.2%
International Union of Police Associations, AFL-CIO 57.2 million 41.4 million 0.5%
National Veterans Services Fund 70.2 million 36.9 million 7.8%
American Association of State Troopers 45 million 36 million 8.6%
Children’s Cancer Fund of America 37.5 million 29.2 million 5.3%

Nonprofit Applications Given a Free Pass by IRS

This is a Flash-based video and may not be viewable on mobile devices.
Even some very large, notable nonprofits have been known to engage in unsavory and outright unethical behaviors, managing to pull the wool over the public eye. Ken Stern, author of With Charity for All andformer CEO of NPR, is very critical of many large charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross and D.A.R.E.
Some nonprofits excel in collecting donations but fail miserably when it comes to distribution, such as the American Red Cross’s bungled 9/11 Fund3 and disastrous deployment of aid and personnel in response to the 9/11 disaster. In an LA Times article, Ken Stern wrote the following4:
“In brief, its response was, well, disastrous. Material and personnel were deployed to the wrong places. Logistics broke down so badly that the organization was unable to get supplies, volunteers, food or cots for first responders quickly to the Pentagon — which was all of 2 miles from its national headquarters and emergency response center.”
Part of the problem is the incredible lack of accountability by the IRS when it comes to charitable organizations. Stern reports that, according to a Stanford study, the IRS approves more than 99.8 percent of all charity applications. Almost anyone with a stamped government form can be a “charity.” Research shows that many nonprofit hospitals are no more charitable than for-profit hospitals, and far LESS charitable than government hospitals. The system is deeply flawed from the get-go.

The New York Stock Exchange is a Nonprofit?

You may be shocked at some of the organizations managing to finagle nonprofit status, hitching them a free ride on the tax-exempt train. For example, until recently, the New York Stock Exchange was a nonprofit entity enjoying a tax exemption and awarding its CEO, Richard Grasso, a $140 million salary package in 2003.4  And then there are tax-exempt “social welfare” organizations that funnel millions of dollars in donations into electoral campaigns. One of the most prominent is American Crossroads, founded by GOP rock star Karl Rove, but similar groups are scattered across the political map.
You can’t assume well-known charitable organizations are acting in your best interest, despite what you may hear in the media. For example, in the case of some large cancer charities, your money will go toward research to create toxic and sometimes deadly cancer drugs, questionable screening programs like mammography, and into the bank accounts of its numerous well-paid executives, as opposed to educating the public about true cancer prevention. Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society are prime examples. And the American Dietetic Association (ADA) is heavily sponsored by junk-food industry giants, including Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mars and Kellogg. So, how can you separate the angels from the demons when a charity calls?

Tips to Help You Avoid Being Scammed

Although your family may want to enjoy eating dinner in peace, politicians and charities are exempt from Federal “do-not-call” laws. However, telemarketing outfits calling on behalf of a charity DO have to honor do-not-call lists—and can be fined for failing to do so.
NEVER give out your credit card or banking information over the phone, and NEVER donate if you’re feeling pressured.
Following a few specific guidelines will help you navigate your way through a charity call, without falling victim to a scammer. Charity Navigator and the Center for Investigative Reporting list five basic strategies. For more detailed information, please visit their websites as both have helpful articles on this topic.5,6
  • Find Out Exactly Who's Calling: Ask if the caller is a telemarketer or a volunteer or employee of the charity itself.
  • Ask Where Your Donation Goes. By law, the caller must tell you how much of your donation will actually end up with the charity.
  • Get It In Writing. Ask to be sent a copy of the charity’s annual report or a brochure about their organization.
  • Do Some Research. Tell the caller you will get back to them—ask for their organization’s name, address and phone number. Don’t donate without first doing your due diligence.
  • Eliminate the Middleman. If you suspect it’s a telemarketer on the phone but you wish to support the charity, contact the charity directly to make your donation.

Resources for Finding Good Charities

A number of excellent online services can help you find the best charities, or check out someone claiming to be one. You may find the following websites quite helpful:
  • Better Business Bureau (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance: Helps donors make informed giving decisions by providing access to comprehensive reports about individual charities. Three times per year it publishes the Wise Giving Guide, which summarizes the latest charity ratings. To check out a business or a charity, visit give.org.
  • Charity Navigator: Browse charities by state or city or by ratings; has several Top 10 lists and informative articles.
  • GuideStar: Another resource to check out a charity, searchable by state or city; you can also read or submit charity reviews.
  • CharityWatch (American Institute of Philanthropy): Allows you to search for top-rated charities by your issue of interest/cause; each charity is graded on the A-F scale.
  • GiveWell: A unique site that offers in-depth charity research, resulting in a VERY short list of recommendations for charities that meet their specific (and very rigid) criteria; their end goal is to determine which charities provide “maximum impact.” Very interesting and innovative company, which is a nonprofit itself.

The NSA Has Inserted Its Code Into Android OS, Or Three Quarters Of All Smartphones

Over a decade ago, it was discovered that the NSA embedded backdoor access into Windows 95, and likely into virtually all other subsequent internet connected, desktop-based operating systems. However, with the passage of time, more and more people went "mobile", and as a result the NSA had to adapt. And adapt they have: as Bloomberg reports, "The NSA is quietly writing code for Google’s Android OS."
Is it ironic that the same "don't be evil" Google which went to such great lengths in the aftermath of the Snowden scandal to wash its hands of snooping on its customers and even filed a request with the secretive FISA court asking permission to disclose more information about the government’s data requests, is embedding NSA code into its mobile operating system, which according to IDC runs on three-quarters of all smartphones shipped in the first quarter? Yes, yes it is.
Google spokeswoman Gina Scigliano confirms that the company has already inserted some of the NSA’s programming in Android OS. "All Android code and contributors are publicly available for review at source.android.com." Scigliano says, declining to comment further.
From Bloomberg:
Through its open-source Android project, Google has agreed to incorporate code, first developed by the agency in 2011, into future versions of its mobile operating system, which according to market researcher IDC runs on three-quarters of the smartphones shipped globally in the first quarter. NSA officials say their code, known as Security Enhancements for Android, isolates apps to prevent hackers and marketers from gaining access to personal or corporate data stored on a device. Eventually all new phones, tablets, televisions, cars, and other devices that rely on Android will include NSA code, agency spokeswoman Vanee’ Vines said in an e-mailed statement. NSA researcher Stephen Smalley, who works on the program, says, “Our goal is to raise the bar in the security of commodity mobile devices.”
See, there's no need to worry: the reason the NSA is generously providing the source code for every Google-based smartphone is for your own security. Oh but it's open-sourced, so someone else will intercept any and all attempts at malice. We forgot.
The story continues:
In a 2011 presentation obtained by Bloomberg Businessweek, Smalley listed among the benefits of the program that it’s “normally invisible to users.” The program’s top goal, according to that presentation: “Improve our understanding of Android security.”
Well one wouldn't want their bug to be visible to users now, would one...
Vines wouldn’t say whether the agency’s work on Android and other software is part of or helps with Prism. “The source code is publicly available for anyone to use, and that includes the ability to review the code line by line,” she said in her statement. Most of the NSA’s suggested additions to the operating system can already be found buried in Google’s latest release—on newer devices including Sony’s Xperia Z, HTC’s One, and Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S4. Although the features are not turned on by default, according to agency documentation, future versions will be. In May the Pentagon approved the use of smartphones and tablets that run Samsung’s mobile enterprise software, Knox, which also includes NSA programming, the company wrote in a June white paper. Sony, HTC, and Samsung declined to comment.
Apple appears to be immune from this unprecedented breach of customer loyalty, if only for now, although open-sourced Linux may not be as lucky:
“Apple (AAPL) does not accept source code from any government agencies for any of our operating systems or other products,” says Kristin Huguet, a spokeswoman for the company. It’s not known if any other proprietary operating systems are using NSA code. SE for Android is an offshoot of a long-running NSA project called Security-Enhanced Linux. That code was integrated a decade ago into the main version of the open-source operating system, the server platform of choice for Internet leaders including Google, Facebook (FB), and Yahoo! (YHOO). Jeff Zemlin, the executive director of the Linux Foundation, says the NSA didn’t add any obvious means of eavesdropping. “This code was peer-reviewed by a lot of people,” he says.
But that's not all:
The NSA developed a separate Android project because Google’s mobile OS required markedly different programming, according to Smalley’s 2011 presentation. Brian Honan, an information technology consultant in Dublin, says his clients in European governments and multinational corporations are worried about how vulnerable their data are when dealing with U.S. companies. The information security world had been preoccupied with Chinese hacking until recently, Honan says. “With Prism, the same accusations can be laid against the U.S. government.”
In short: the (big brother supervised) fun never stops in Stasi 2.0 world. Just buy your 100 P/E stocks, eat your burgers, watch your Dancing With The Stars, pay your taxes, and engage in as much internet contact with other internet-addicted organisms as possible and all shall be well.
Oh, and from this...

1960 USDA Film Admits Scientists “Fixed the Glutens in Flour”

What triggered a whole market based around ‘gluten-free’?

What triggered a whole market based around ‘gluten-free’?

As I’ve reported before, it’s not just some new food fad; gluten is actually making people all kinds of sick and slowly killing others.

Wheat, a major source of gluten, also happens to be the the number two food subsidized by our government; it’s grown all over the place and put into a large majority of our foods. Studies have shown that back in the 1950s, one in around 5,000 people might have a severe and potentially deadly allergy to gluten known as Celiac’s Disease; now it’s more like a staggering one in 133.

In short, in 60 years, here’s what Celiac Disease figures look like by the decade in America:

1950s: 1 in 5,000
2010s: 1 in 133

Population increase alone cannot come close to accounting for such a vast difference.

Many more people who do not have full-blown Celiac’s may suffer from harmful gluten intolerance issues as well; estimates show as many as 18 million Americans suffer from gluten-derived health issues.

People who get sick eating gluten do so because the protein triggers an auto-immune response that causes the body to attack it’s own intestinal lining. When that happens, any one or more of 200-300 different symptoms can occur, as the body stops being able to absorb its nutrients properly. This can end in so many diseases…and, ultimately, death.

Because the symptoms of gluten intolerance are so varied (and numerous), many people don’t even realize they are suffering from gluten sensitivity issues. Click here for a condensed list of the 200-300 symptoms gluten intolerance can cause.

What has happened to our food that so many people who eat it are getting sick enough that large numbers of us require whole entire stores dedicated entirely to removing an ingredient that just so happens to be found in the majority of foods in our country…?

The clip below includes an excerpt from a 1960 U.S. Department of Agriculture short film “Miracles from Agriculture” which might shed a clue on how gluten first started to become such a huge health problem for so many people.

Top 20 Obama scandals: The list

As a junior U.S. senator from Illinois, Barack Obama used his brief career to essentially snipe at President Bush and others in his administration over what he believed were a series of legal and constitutional abuses.

Most ironically Obama, in 2006, blasted Bush over his approval of warrantless domestic spying by the National Security Agency - spying that has not only continued since then but which was expanded exponentially under Obama. Then as now, both presidents claim authority to do so as commander-in-chief, in defense of the country, and under provisions of the USA Patriot Act.

But unlike Bush, the Obama Administration has been wracked by scandal, several of which have exploded onto headlines within weeks after he was reelected to a second term in November. Here is a list of 20 of the most prominent among them, as documented by veteran White House reporter Keith Koffler):

1. IRS targets Obama's enemies: The IRS targeted conservative and pro-Israel groups prior to the 2012 election. Questions are being raised about why this occurred, who ordered it, whether there was any White House involvement and whether there was an initial effort to hide who knew about the targeting and when.

2. Benghazi: This is actually three scandals in one: The failure of administration to protect the Benghazi mission; the changes made to the talking points in order to suggest the attack was motivated by an anti-Muslim video; and the refusal of the White House to say what President Obama did the night of the attack.

3. Keeping an eye on The Associated Press: The Justice Department performed a massive cull of Associated Press reporters' phone records as part of a leak investigation.

4. Rosengate: The Justice Department suggested that Fox News reporter James Rosen is a criminal for reporting about classified information and subsequently monitored his phones and emails.

5. Potential Holder perjury I: Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress he had never been associated with "potential prosecution" of a journalist for perjury when in fact he signed the affidavit that termed Rosen a potential criminal.

6. The ATF "Fast and Furious" scheme: Federal agencies allowed weapons from U.S. gun dealers to "walk" across the border into the hands of Mexican drug dealers. The ATF summarily lost track of scores of those weapons, many of which were used in crimes, including the December 2010 killing of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

7. Potential Holder perjury II: Holder told Congress in May 2011 that he had just recently heard about the Fast and Furious gun walking scheme when there is evidence he may have known much earlier.

8. Sebelius demands payment: HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius solicited donations from companies HHS might regulate. The money would be used to help her sign up uninsured Americans for Obamacare.

9. The Pigford scandal: An Agriculture Department effort that started as an attempt to compensate black farmers who had been discriminated against by the agency but evolved into a gravy train delivering several billion dollars in cash to thousands of additional minority and female farmers who probably didn't face discrimination.

10. GSA gone wild: The General Services Administration in 2010 held an $823,000 training conference in Las Vegas, featuring a clown and a mind readers. Resulted in the resignation of the GSA administrator.

11. Veterans Affairs in Disney World: The agency wasted more than $6 million on two conferences in Orlando. An assistant secretary was fired.

12. Sebelius violates the Hatch Act: A U.S. special counsel determined that Sebelius violated the Hatch Act when she made "extemporaneous partisan remarks" during a speech in her official capacity last year. During the remarks, Sebelius called for the election of the Democratic candidate for governor of North Carolina.

13. Solyndra: Republicans charged the Obama Administration funded and promoted its poster boy for green energy despite warning signs the company was headed for bankruptcy. The administration also allegedly pressed Solyndra to delay layoff announcements until after the 2010 midterm elections.

14. AKA Lisa Jackson: Former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson used the name "Richard Windsor" when corresponding by email with other government officials, drawing charges she was trying to evade scrutiny.

15. The New Black Panthers: The Justice Department was accused of using a racial double standard in failing to pursue a voter intimidation case against Black Panthers who appeared to be menacing voters at a polling place in 2008 in Philadelphia.

16. Waging war all by myself: Obama may have violated the Constitution and both the letter and the spirit of the War Powers Resolution by attacking Libya without Congressional approval.

17. Biden bullies the press: Vice President Biden's office has repeatedly interfered with coverage, including forcing a reporter to wait in a closet, making a reporter delete photos, and editing pool reports.

18. AKPD not A-OK: The administration paid millions to the former firm of then-White House adviser David Axelrod, AKPD Message and Media, to promote passage of Obamacare. Some questioned whether the firm was hired to help pay Axelrod $2 million AKPD owed him.

19. Sestak, we'll take care of you: Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel used Bill Clinton as an intermediary to probe whether former Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) would accept a prominent, unpaid White House advisory position in exchange for dropping out of the 2010 primary against former Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.).

20. I'll pass my own laws: Obama has repeatedly been accused of making end runs around Congress by deciding which laws to enforce, including the decision not to deport illegal immigrants who may have been allowed to stay in the United States had Congress passed the "Dream Act."

With three-and-a-half years of Obama's second term remaining, there is no telling how many more scandals will erupt.

However, it's important to note that many of these are not "scandals" in the typical sense, but rather the machinations of an imperial president who seeks to "rule" over his "subjects," without their consent.

Don't expect Obama to suddenly grow a conscience and constrain himself, meaning this list is destined to grow larger.

U.S. Postal Service Logging All Mail for Law Enforcement

WASHINGTON — Leslie James Pickering noticed something odd in his mail last September: A handwritten card, apparently delivered by mistake, with instructions for postal workers to pay special attention to the letters and packages sent to his home.

“Show all mail to supv” — supervisor — “for copying prior to going out on the street,” read the card. It included Mr. Pickering’s name, address and the type of mail that needed to be monitored. The word “confidential” was highlighted in green.

“It was a bit of a shock to see it,” said Mr. Pickering, who owns a small bookstore in Buffalo. More than a decade ago, he was a spokesman for the Earth Liberation Front, a radical environmental group labeled eco-terrorists by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Postal officials subsequently confirmed they were indeed tracking Mr. Pickering’s mail but told him nothing else.

As the world focuses on the high-tech spying of the National Security Agency, the misplaced card offers a rare glimpse inside the seemingly low-tech but prevalent snooping of the United States Postal Service.

Mr. Pickering was targeted by a longtime surveillance system called mail covers, but that is only a forerunner of a vastly more expansive effort, the Mail Isolation Control and Tracking program, in which Postal Service computers photograph the exterior of every piece of paper mail that is processed in the United States — about 160 billion pieces last year. It is not known how long the government saves the images.

Together, the two programs show that snail mail is subject to the same kind of scrutiny that the National Security Agency has given to telephone calls and e-mail.

The mail covers program, used to monitor Mr. Pickering, is more than a century old but is still considered a powerful tool. At the request of law enforcement officials, postal workers record information from the outside of letters and parcels before they are delivered. (Actually opening the mail requires a warrant.) The information is sent to whatever law enforcement agency asked for it. Tens of thousands of pieces of mail each year undergo this scrutiny.

The Mail Isolation Control and Tracking program was created after the anthrax attacks in late 2001 that killed five people, including two postal workers. Highly secret, it seeped into public view last month when the F.B.I. cited it in its investigation of ricin-laced letters sent to President Obama and Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. It enables the Postal Service to retroactively track mail correspondence at the request of law enforcement. No one disputes that it is sweeping.

“In the past, mail covers were used when you had a reason to suspect someone of a crime,” said Mark D. Rasch, the former director of the Justice Department’s computer crime unit, who worked on several fraud cases using mail covers. “Now it seems to be ‘Let’s record everyone’s mail so in the future we might go back and see who you were communicating with.’ Essentially you’ve added mail covers on millions of Americans.”

Bruce Schneier, a computer security expert and an author, said whether it was a postal worker taking down information or a computer taking images, the program was still an invasion of privacy.

“Basically they are doing the same thing as the other programs, collecting the information on the outside of your mail, the metadata, if you will, of names, addresses, return addresses and postmark locations, which gives the government a pretty good map of your contacts, even if they aren’t reading the contents,” he said.

But law enforcement officials said mail covers and the automatic mail tracking program are invaluable, even in an era of smartphones and e-mail.

In a criminal complaint filed June 7 in Federal District Court in Eastern Texas, the F.B.I. said a postal investigator tracing the ricin letters was able to narrow the search to Shannon Guess Richardson, an actress in New Boston, Tex., by examining information from the front and back images of 60 pieces of mail scanned immediately before and after the tainted letters sent to Mr. Obama and Mr. Bloomberg showing return addresses near her home. Ms. Richardson had originally accused her husband of mailing the letters, but investigators determined that he was at work during the time they were mailed.

In 2007, the F.B.I., the Internal Revenue Service and the local police in Charlotte, N.C., used information gleaned from the mail cover program to arrest Sallie Wamsley-Saxon and her husband, Donald, charging both with running a prostitution ring that took in $3 million over six years. Prosecutors said it was one of the largest and most successful such operations in the country. Investigators also used mail covers to help track banking activity and other businesses the couple operated under different names.

Other agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services, have used mail covers to track drug smugglers and Medicare fraud.

“It’s a treasure trove of information,” said James J. Wedick, a former F.B.I. agent who spent 34 years at the agency and who said he used mail covers in a number of investigations, including one that led to the prosecution of several elected officials in California on corruption charges. “Looking at just the outside of letters and other mail, I can see who you bank with, who you communicate with — all kinds of useful information that gives investigators leads that they can then follow up on with a subpoena.”

But, he said: “It can be easily abused because it’s so easy to use and you don’t have to go through a judge to get the information. You just fill out a form.”

For mail cover requests, law enforcement agencies simply submit a letter to the Postal Service, which can grant or deny a request without judicial review. Law enforcement officials say the Postal Service rarely denies a request. In other government surveillance program, such as wiretaps, a federal judge must sign off on the requests.

The mail cover surveillance requests are granted for about 30 days, and can be extended for up to 120 days. There are two kinds of mail covers: those related to criminal activity and those requested to protect national security. The criminal activity requests average 15,000 to 20,000 per year, said law enforcement officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are prohibited by law from discussing the requests. The number of requests for antiterrorism mail covers has not been made public.

Law enforcement officials need warrants to open the mail, although President George W. Bush asserted in a signing statement in 2007 that the federal government had the authority to open mail without warrants in emergencies or foreign intelligence cases.

Court challenges to mail covers have generally failed because judges have ruled that there is no reasonable expectation of privacy for information contained on the outside of a letter. Officials in both the George W. Bush and Obama administrations, in fact, have used the mail-cover court rulings to justify the N.S.A.’s surveillance programs, saying the electronic monitoring amounts to the same thing as a mail cover. Congress briefly conducted hearings on mail cover programs in 1976, but has not revisited the issue.

The program has led to sporadic reports of abuse. In May 2012, Mary Rose Wilcox, a Maricopa County supervisor, was awarded nearly $1 million by a federal judge after winning a lawsuit against Sheriff Joe Arpaio, known for his immigration raids in Arizona, who, among other things, obtained mail covers from the Postal Service to track her mail. The judge called the investigation into Ms. Wilcox politically motivated because she had been a frequent critic of Mr. Arpaio, objecting to what she considered the targeting of Hispanics in his immigration sweeps. The case is being appealed.

In the mid-1970s the Church Committee, a Senate panel that documented C.I.A. abuses, faulted a program created in the 1950s in New York that used mail covers to trace and sometimes open mail going to the Soviet Union from the United States.

A suit brought in 1973 by a high school student in New Jersey, whose letter to the Socialist Workers Party was traced by the F.B.I. as part of an investigation into the group, led to a rebuke from a federal judge.

Postal officials refused to discuss either mail covers or the Mail Isolation Control and Tracking program.

Mr. Pickering says he suspects that the F.B.I. requested the mail cover to monitor his mail because a former associate said the bureau had called with questions about him. Last month, he filed a lawsuit against the Postal Service, the F.B.I. and other agencies, saying they were improperly withholding information.

A spokeswoman for the F.B.I. in Buffalo declined to comment.

Mr. Pickering said that although he was arrested two dozen times for acts of civil disobedience and convicted of a handful of misdemeanors, he was never involved in the arson attacks the Earth Liberation Front carried out. He said he became tired of focusing only on environmental activism and moved back to Buffalo to finish college, open his bookstore, Burning Books, and start a family.

“I’m no terrorist,” he said. “I’m an activist.”

Mr. Pickering has written books sympathetic to the liberation front, but he said his political views and past association should not make him the target of a federal investigation. “I’m just a guy who runs a bookstore and has a wife and a kid,” he said.
